Great run.
@@yvngchvp8695 Thank you!
I get tired just watching you. 🥵 There is no way I could have run that far now at 74 let alone when I was 58. How do you stay focused when running indoors for so long?🏃♂🏃♂
Good morning Ken. It’s a hobby or a habit, so I really don’t think about it. Do you at least go for walks? That’s really good too.
@@KoiRun50 Usually a minimum of 2 walks a day with my dog Lucky, on average 30 minutes or so sometimes longer for each walk.
That’s good
Thank you!
Looking great
I been wanting to plant a mulberry but afraid that the tree gets really huge and tall. Is that a dwarf variety?
@@kimuseni I’m not sure but I’m keeping my trees in pots so that they won’t grow big. In our little yard we can’t afford to have big tree.
And the tree does OK during winter? Or do you take them in
My Acer tree has survive a few years now. The mulberry tree survived last winter albeit it was a mild one. Many have died. They stay outside.
Awesome. My koi loves raspberries also
👍🙏
Wonderful sound of rain. You got some corn growing.
Thank you. I hope the squirrels leave me some.
That's a proper downpour 😭🐟
We had another pretty bad one yesterday where the sky was almost black.
Refreshing !!! 😂
Exactly! Was just contemplating on taking a shower myself . 🤣🙃
Your koi seem to love it..
@@stubbsaquatics6080 likely because of bugs that get washed out from between the rocks as tasty treats.
@@KoiRun50 I bet
Free water top up... It rained Really hard here
Definitely. Ro water too. Can’t remember the last time I tested my water. Koi keeps happy.
A swim and a hydro massage at the same time...what more could a koi want besides food.😂😂😂
I know they love the rain. It’s like fresh air for them plus the bug treats come out.
Nice! It seems like your koi would eat everything that you throw at them.😀 How many koi do you actually have in your pond, bro?
Five original plus one baby (well grown up now).
Nice . Your guys will eat anything.. We eat out raspberries.. tried throwing it into the pond.. they just let then sink.. watermelon they like.. Still can't get oved the colours.. Omg..M&Ms. Lol I might dive in and get them
Thanks I don’t know what I’m doing right with the colours.
@@KoiRun50 well keep it up... whatever it is
That water looks awesome 👍
Thanks Sam! A little green but that’s to be expected. I thinks it will clearer in August .
Is there anything your koi won't eat? Somehow I don't think so. 😂😂😂
For survival 😂😂😂.
delphine and carla Koi origin story ❤❤❤
@@RyuSenshack845 Oh yes! 👍 🙏
Love the sound of the water flow. Never gets old.
@@YimmersKoiNReef Awww that’s nice. Thank you!
I feed mine twice a day, the odd time three times .. i have plants and algae on the sides so they are always foraging
Definitely more natural food to be had there.
Mine get fed 3 times a day thanks to my auto-feeder so they are generally pretty active. On really hot days they do spend a lot of time at the bottom relaxing but like yours are always happy to have food thrown in. 👍🏻
They are still swimming around 2 hours later which is nice to see. An auto feeder will bankrupt me.
Everything looking spot on ,lovely sparkle to the water 👍
Thanks Marek, yes the water appears stable so I haven’t tested in awhile.
Looking amazing as always sid 👌👍👍
Thanks Leon 🙏
Everytime you feed your fish with something different or unusual, I have tried it myself. My fish do not eat anything of it. I have tried a lot of produce from my garden. The only thing they take is red currant. I guess it is like children fed on fastfood and candies that they do not eat the healthy stuff. The fish just like high protein pellets better and do not take the healthy stuff. I do not mind as I like the nice body they get from it.
I think they get most of the vitamins and minerals from sucking on algae. Since they get so hungry I never get green water.
@@KoiRun50 possibly so. I do not let my family nor my pets go hungry🤣🤣
Morning sid, your fish looking great 👍 Tried my fish with strawberries yesterday they spit them out😢 more for me 😂 🐟
@@Garykoi625 Yeah mine don’t like strawberries either.
Sid, if I'm not mistaken you have your koi on a 'see-food diet' - they see food and eat it, no matter what it is. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣. hungriest koi ever
The colours in your koi are next level Sid
Thanks Chris! I hope you’re enjoying the summer.
@@KoiRun50 I am
Yummy greens
Honestly I think they’re just hungry 😁
Pond and yard looking great. Hope the fish don't get too wet from all that rain. 🤣🤣🤣
Haha they love swimming in the rain. 😆😆😆
Carbonate levels dropping by the minute with all that rain 😭😭😭 everyone looks healthy 💪
I haven’t checked my KH in a long time. I should. Thank you.☺️
@@KoiRun50 do you still have the trickle in set up? I wouldn’t really worry about it if you still do
@@mrtingsyes it is still going. Fish and the water look great that is why I haven’t tested I awhile. But still it should be interesting to check to see trends.
Looking good Sid 👍🏼
Thanks Mike! Hopefully you’re having a great summer 🧉🍹🥤🍺🧋🥤🍺
Hi Syd, Thank you for picking my mulberries. Please come again. Your koi are beautiful. They licked the plate like a dog. So cute.
Lol they love it! Full of vitamins. Will definitely be back for more. Thanks!! 😊
Great flow .. those koi colours are popping
Thanks bud!
Can't believe that they like them fish are looking great
I think the trend so far is that they eat everything 😂😂
Your koi certainly seem to be enjoying them but I'm not surprised. If your koi are like mine they'll almost anything that will fit into their mouths. Just be careful when you put your fingers into the pond or they might get eaten as well. 🤣🤣🤣
They’re nasty and I’d like to keep all my fingers 🤣🤣🤣.
Your koi love them
I’m going back for more! This time I’ll bring a broom 😁.
My old koi use to love fruit but the koi I have now ... They aren't into it... The ferns are looking awesome Wow those are a lot of berries
Haha my koi are always hungry so can’t be too picky.
They certainly seem to enjoy the sardines. I'll have to try some with my fish. I do feed them shrimp (frozen then thawed), canned clams as well as mealworms, black soldier fly larva and silk worm pupae which they thoroughly enjoy so I'm sure they'd love the sardines too. Happy Father's Day to you as well. 👍🏻
Hmmm canned clams. I’ve got some of those 😉.
The koi are looking great the colours are really bright 🌞 🐟
Thanks Gary, have a great summer. Heat wave coming over here.
Your water crest has gone crazy !!
Yep hardly have time for up keep even in this tiny garden and pond.
Happy Father's Day buddy. So nice to see the pond partially open. Your koi look so good!!! Colours are so vivid
It’s definitely a nice place for a staycation.
Happy Father’s Day!!
Wow! I didn’t know that there’s an oldest koi in the Queen Elizabeth Park(?). I was there with my family in August 2021 just to tour the area but found nothing special about this park.
Yeah I watched your videos about Vancouver before going on our trip.
@@KoiRun50 Nice! I hope you had a great time.
I am sorry, but this is absurd. Research on wetland filtration has shown that 1m2 of sand at a depth of 120mm produces denitrification at a rate of 0.5g NO3 per day. The sand has a surface area of 20m2 per kg. To put that into context for you, 100g of fish food at 38% protein produces 26.96g of nitrate. So if you feed fish food of 5g a day the results will be 1.348g of nitrate and it would take 2.7 M2 of a sand bed filter to remove this.
I’ve read about similar studies. Detectable nitrate reduction with this tube system is when the tube is almost plugged up and the drip was very very slow. The amount of water dripped is impractical to pump back into the pond. But it was a rare time it’s ever been demonstrated. No worries and thanks for watching.
Nice video sid what a great place to visit 😀 I will put it on my list 👍 🐟
👍😉 Thank you! ⛰️🏔️
Lovely place glad you found the fish you were looking for

Great topic Sid.😀👍
Glad I got you engaged Magnus. Means a lot. Thanks!
Love the video Tito Sid 😁
Thanks Anak. We loved Vancouver. Coming back for sure to do more.
Looks like you have achieved your mission. Vancouver looks great
Before actually deciding on traveling, I actually tried to call the conservatory first to see if Dragons Gate is still there but you know these days no one picks up the phone. But yes seeing Dragons Gate is definitely the cherry on top.
The Japanese (Chinese?) garden is awesome. I recall hearing about the otter and the devastation it caused to the koi pond. So sad. 38 years for a koi is impressive and makes my 23 year old ochibas look like children in comparison. Even though Dragon's Gate is 38 years old it has a long way to go to reach the legendary koi in Japan called Hanako that was reported to have been over 200 years at the time of her death a few years ago. If Dragon's Gate does make it to 200 I'm sure I won't be here to celebrate. 😥Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Thanks for sharing.
If we'd have more time I would have loved to visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen Classical Chinese garden as it is called, but my primary goal of my visit has been achieved and there is definitely going to be a next time. Thanks for watching Ken.
